Connection, Prosperity, & Sustainability

Makers Market

Wahcoloosencoochaleva, or The Great Carrying Place of the Adirondacks was historically the area where the native people got out of their canoes or kayaks and carried them for more than 20 miles to the Lake George basin. They also carried and traded what they created, hunted, and gathered during their journey on the Hudson River.

Deep in the roots of this community is the desire to work with our hands and live off the land. We are rich with makers of hand crafted art and home made goods. It’s in our nature and our hearts. The Great Carrying Place brings prosperity and sustainability to our region while creating connections and putting makers on the map.

Please honor our roots and explore our region

starting at our Market Events every Wednesday evening 4-8PM and every Sunday morning 10-2PM
